Christmas evening was spent making
lussekatter (Swedish saffron buns). They didn't turn out as delicious as expected but still fun to make.
Crushing the saffron with a poor man's mortar and pestle (yep, that's a wine corker):
Warm butter and milk:
Mix with yeast:
Add other fun ingredients:
Stir until all doughy:
Let rise, then punch:
Roll into s-shaped buns and let rise again:
Right outta the oven:
Ta-da!...
